Norway is a beautiful country, full of tall majestic mountains carved from ancient glaciers, along with hundreds of Fjords that provide stunning and breathtaking views. Once ruled by the Vikings, our Norway Motorcycle Tour is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular rides you’ll ever go on

Our adventurous Norway tour is ideal for experienced seasoned riders who don’t mind clocking up a few miles in order to get to the best bits a little quicker!
The journey starts at Calais Euro tunnel or you can take the ferry journey to the Hook of Holland and meet up with the rest of the group at the first nights hotel. From here we ride through northern Germany and into Denmark making our way up to Hirtshalls to catch the ferry to Kritiansands where the beautiful scenery comes alive.
Guided Motorbike Tours have built a reputation for providing exciting, thrilling, adventurous and fun tours for riders of all ages and abilities.
Norway is a Scandinavian country encompassing mountains, glaciers and deep coastal fjords. Oslo, the capital, is a city of green spaces and museums. Bergen, with colourful wooden houses is typically how Norway is portrayed today in travel brochures, it is also the starting point for many of the cruises that flow around Norway.
However, we will be riding motorcycles, which means we will definitely not be on a cruise or a two wheeled coach tour, by this we mean we will see far more than just coastline and busy hotels. From enormous mountains carved from ancient glaciers to gigantic Fjords that flow throughout the entire country, Norway offers some of the most spectacular landscapes. Impressive is an understatement and seeing is believing.

Please note: We do not include evening meals on this tour as we have found set menu meals for tour groups are sub-standard and can leave you feeling hungry. The choice is often limited, so we prefer to let you choose what you want to eat and how much you spend!

Hotels are limited in Norway. As this is more biased towards an “adventure” tour, we will be staying in some quirky accommodation, such as; log cabins, apartments, B&B’s etc

1

DAY 1 - CALAIS to LOWER SAXONY

We begin our journey from Folkestone and catch the Euro Tunnel to Calais. There is an option to take the Hull to Hook of Holland ferry for those that prefer. From here we head to Lower Saxony in Germany. The first couple of days are transit days, meaning we have to make up some miles or we miss out on the best bits. Those catching the ferry will meet us at the first nights hotel

Distance: 350 miles

2

DAY 2 - DENMARK

We head through Denmark today, another transit day that will bring us almost to the northern tip of Denmark so that we only have a short ride in the morning to catch the ferry

Distance: 365 miles

3

DAY 3 - NORWAY!

Leaving the hotel a little earlier today, we head 40 miles north to Hirtshalls to catch our ferry to Kristiansand. 2.5 hours later and we’re in Norway, where we will disembark the ferry and head through the Fjords to Stavanger.

Distance 198 miles

4

DAY 4 - ODA

in the morning just after departing from the hotel we jump on the first of two ferry crossings today, only short ones across the fjords, and head into what most will recognise as being featured in the travel brochures, the stunning scenery.  It is rugged, brutal and unyielding, and you might find yourself wondering what on earth it was that persuaded someone to lay a road here. At the Svandalfossen waterfall, you can walk up the steps and feel the force of the rushing water and the might of the cascade. Sometimes the water runs so high that the police take charge, directing cars one at a time through the mist of spray that covers the road. It is quite an amazing experience.

Distance: 131 miles

DAY 5 - Lærdalsøyri

A short ride today to Lærdalsøyri taking in the beautiful scenic mountain views

IS THE TOUR SUITABLE FOR PILLIONS?

Yes absolutely

WHY IS THE TOUR PRICE HIGHER THAN OTHER SIMILAR EUROPEAN TOURS?

Norwegian hotels, fuel, food, ferries etc is more expensive than Europe, we don’t compromise the quality and enjoyment of your tour by booking low quality or low rated hotels. This is your holiday and we do our upmost best to make it very special, we can only do that by booking decent accommodation, unfortunately this reflects in the price.

ARE MEALS INCLUDED?

We do include breakfast in the booking price but lunch and evening meals are not. The main reason we do not include evening meals is simply because, more often than not, the portions are small, better suited to coach tours or the elderly and do not fill your tummies up after a long day riding. Having the freedom of choice allows you to select and choose the food you’re in the mood for and according to your budget!

IS NORWAY EXPENSIVE?

Norway can be pricey in some of the more popular towns and cities due to tourist rates. Generally, most things are 25 – 50% more expensive than in the UK and rest of Europe

As a basic guide you would need to budget approximately £80 – £100 per day for fuel, tolls, lunch, evening meals, drinks etc

Expect to pay…

  • 3 – 4 Euro for a coffee
  • 8 – 9 Euro for a beer
  • 30 – 45 Euro for a bottle of wine
  • 10 -12 Euro for a burger
  • 14 – 16 Euro for a pizza
  • 30 – 40 Euros for tolls
  • 1.4 – 1.8 Euro per liter for fuel (not much more than the UK!)

IS IT A SAFE COUNTRY?

Yes, one of the safest in Europe. According to the 2013 Global Peace Index, Norway is one of the most peaceful countries in the world, ranking 11th out of 162 countries

WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE?

The time of year our tour runs you can expect averages of between 18 – 22c, which makes it a very pleasant environment to ride in

WHAT ACCOMMODATION IS PROVIDED?

The accommodation provided on the tour is a mix of quality hotels, Bed & Breakfast, Apartments & Log/wood cabins

Sognefjorden is the largest fjord in Norway and third largest in the world. It is the longest ice-free fjord in the world and stretches 127 miles (205 km) inland from the ocean
